Right Turn provides a broad range of evidence-based treatment programs for individuals and families recovering from substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
Since 2003, our guiding principles of recovery with creative
expression and integration into the community have helped our
clients and their families rebuild their lives.
We are a creative community for people in early
recovery, and for those who are maintaining long-term
recovery. At Right Turn each person’s needs are assessed,
and an individual treatment plan is developed. Client’s
needs are continually re-evaluated and plans are adjusted to
recognize emerging needs and to celebrate progress. Right Turn
integrates clinical best practices with outcomes-driven creative
solutions into a full continuum of substance use disorder and
co-occurring disorder behavioral health treatment.
Right Turn’s programs are an exciting and innovative platform
combining traditional therapies and creative self-expression
with evidenced based arts programming. Our program provides
emotional as well as creative outlets for clients, and helps fulfill

PARTIAL HOSPITAL PROGRAM (PHP)
Partial Hospitalization is a structured mental health treatment
program that runs for several hours each day, five days
per week, for at least two weeks. Clients with co-occurring
disorders participate in the scheduled treatment sessions
during the day and return home at night. The program
runs concurrently with our IOP and has unique additional
programming after a lunch break. This program is a step down
from 24 hour care in a psychiatric hospital setting (inpatient
treatment). It can also be used to prevent the need for an
inpatient hospital stay. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is
designed for individuals who meet the following criteria:

FAMILY GROUP—FAMILY MATTERS
A biweekly group started in 2012 for anyone who wishes to
learn and be supported. This is a peer to peer support group
facilitated by Woody Giessmann to assist in the development
of coping skills for the family. The group meets on Monday
evening at 7 PM. Join the group by ZOOM: ID: 491-789-200
and Password: 312 949. All are welcome.
An intervention is an invitation by family members and
friends to assist a person with Substance Use Disorders or
Co-occurring Disorders to get help for their issues. These
interventions are highly successful and result in a person
entering a drug and alcohol or mental health treatment
program—learning how to live life without the use of
these substances. The purpose of interventions is to coach
an individual and their family members through the ways
in which their disease is affecting the people they love the
most, and get them into the correct level of treatment. With
the help of Woody Giessmann, a licensed therapist (LADC-I)
and certified intervention specialist (CIP), family and friends
are invited to participate in the intervention process. The
intervention does not have to be painful, rather it can be the
beginning of a new way of living for all those involved.
Goals:
Within the 30-day agreement, Woody will provide coaching and training for the family, refer that individual to an appropriate program to
meet his or her needs. It is important that the family receive
support throughout the intervention process. Woody will
continue to work with the program we have chosen and help
the family develop a plan to reinforce self-care to support the
individual seeking treatment. Woody has worked in the field of
Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health since 1993. Call 617-365-9460 if you have questions about Intervention.
Woody Giessmann Credentials: Right Turn was founded in 2003 by Woody Giessmann, former drummer for The Del Fuego’s, an internationally known rock band.
