A Safe, Supportive Environment
At Right Turn, our new supported housing program provides supervised housing for men and a chance to interact with sober companions in a sober community where creative people share a vision of recovery. Our supported housing program emphasizes the development of life skills and healthy relationships.
An alternative to traditional residential drug rehab, Right Turn’s residential program provides addiction treatment in the context of a caring community. Conveniently located in Watertown Square, MA., our facility offers treatment for drug addiction as well as alcohol addiction treatment. A beautifully renovated historic New England house is the site of our supported housing program where 5 men have the opportunity to develop sober coping and life skills in a unique recovery environment with the support and encouragement of sober companions. Unlike institution-based drug addiction rehabilitation centers, the Right Turn Supported Housing Program offers a creative recovery environment in a home-like setting with comfortable private rooms and the serenity of outdoor gardens and private sitting rooms.
Treatment Approach
Residents of our Supported Housing Program, participate in Right Turn’s alcohol and drug addiction treatment which includes addiction counseling, intensive psychotherapy, medication management, family therapy and life skill building as key components. Our goal is to help residents build a clean and sober support network and to develop the skills that are required for sober living.
Building Life Skills
When dealing with addiction, the primary focus is on the “how, where and when’s” of “using”. Where will you get it? When will you use it? And how will you get it again? Life becomes a repetitive routine of addiction.
Creativity and Sober Support
Right Turn Supported Housing for Men is much more than simply an alcohol addiction treatment center. And what it provides goes well beyond the offerings of an ordinary residential drug rehab. Right Turn offers many opportunities to bring creativity into the recovery process. Residents find a supportive environment in which to express individual creativity and to feel part of a vital, creative community. Knowing that others around you understand the pain and struggles of addiction provides a sense of comfort and safety in the company of sober companions who wish to approach recovery with creativity. Daily access to The Fuegos Music Room is one of many avenues for creative exploration. This fully equipped music room is open to all residents for practice and rediscovering the kind of “healthy fun” so often lost to drug or alcohol addiction. Rehearsing for Right Turn LIVE!’s weekly jam sessions is a popular activity through the week. Performances are open to the public every Saturday night at Right Turn LIVE! –
