Medication Assisted Treatment

Right Turn provides a one day a week MAT program for people struggling with alcohol, opiate, and other substance use disorders. Right Turn offers pharmacological evaluation, individual therapy, group therapy, and family services. This multi-faceted approach greatly assists clients and families in receiving the best care possible.  Along with treatments such as therapy, group therapy, family services, psychiatry and self-help groups, medication has been shown to be useful in reducing drinking or opiate use, and for maintaining sobriety.

Suboxone and Subutex (Buprenorphine), ReVia (Naltrexone), Vivitrol (intramuscular injectable Naltrexone) and  Campral (Acamprosate), and psychotropic medications are all used in the successful treatment of substance use disorder. Medication should be considered as an integral part of a comprehensive recovery program that includes also includes structure, counseling, groups and peer-support.

The Right Turn MAT Program meets on Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm at 440 Arsenal Street in Watertown. Our clinical staff will coordinate intake with any referring physician, or other care providers, in order to fully meet the needs of our clients.

Patients who are able to abstain from alcohol (even for a short time) are appropriate for an injection of intramuscular Vivitrol. As with all medication treatments for addiction, treatment with Vivitrol should be included with a comprehensive recovery program that includes daily structure and peer-support.

Right Turn will also be able to offer additional pharmacological evaluation, individual therapy, group therapy, and family services. This multi-faceted approach greatly assists clients and families in receiving the best care possible.
