Located in Arlington Center, MA, this 3 – 6 month early recovery program includes 3 Phases of Recovery. Individuals attend groups, individual psychotherapy, family counseling, and psychiatry, as needed, along with addiction education, relapse prevention, and daily creativity workshops unique to our program which ordinary drug addiction rehabilitation centers or alcohol addiction treatment centers are not likely to provide. We are skilled in treating a wide range of addictions. This includes the use of Suboxone treatment for addiction to opiates.
Our office-based opiate treatment model - also known as Buprenorphine Treatment, or Suboxone Treatment, is available through our Intensive Outpatient Program. Right Turn physicians can provide supervised induction stabilization, maintenance and taper, if desired or indicated. Research supports better outcomes when Suboxone treatment is offered within a highly structured outpatient program which includes family therapy. As part of our Intensive Outpatient Program, Suboxone candidates are provided with weekly individual therapy, group therapy specific to medications, urine drug screens, routine meetings with the treating physician, case management and compliance monitoring. Urine screening is done by a Right Turn physician or Precision Testing Labs at our Arlington Clinic in order to provide a secure “chain of custody”.
Whether an individual is dealing with an opiate addiction, or another chemical dependence, the emphasis is on learning to cope with cravings and urges, understanding a clean and sober lifestyle, managing symptoms of early recovery and building a supportive network in sobriety. It is quite common for people in early recovery to experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADD ADHD and trauma. This makes comprehensive assessment and on-going evaluation by our trained addiction and mental health specialists very important at all stages in the recovery process. Helping the addict identify early signs of withdrawal, build coping skills and develop recovery strategies are key parts of the program.
Family Work
Too often, the families of addicts don’t know where to turn for help. Is a drug addiction rehabilitation center the right approach? Is an alcohol addiction treatment center the answer? At Right Turn, our approach is quite different and incorporates strategies that traditional “rehab programs” do not. We believe strongly in working with the family. We understand that addiction and substance abuse disorders cause stress, confusion and anxiety for family members. Very often, for instance, the family needs help in understanding opiate addiction and the concept of Suboxone treatment. To assist the family with issues of this kind, Right Turn works with a family specialist to offer an array of services designed to educate family members about addiction and healthy family responses.
Expressive Therapies
Drugs and alcohol deprive the addict of their true sense of self, and self worth. Individuals lose a perception of themselves as fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, friends. They start to see themselves only as “addicts”. At Right Turn, rediscovering those lost parts of one’s self is crucial to recovery. And finding one’s own creative voice can support this personal journey. Whether through introspective journaling, or no-holds-barred laughter workshops, Right Turn offers a variety of expressive therapies in all of our programs. The importance we place on personal expression is one of the distinguishing features of our program that separates us from regular alcohol addiction treatment centers, or drug addiction rehab centers. Our emphasis on using the creative process to support recovery is unique, innovative and highly effective.
