Right Turn is a non-profit organization founded in 2003 with a vision of providing innovative programming, individual support, rehabilitation services and ongoing encouragement to New England artists and entertainers (and their families) who've been affected by alcoholism, addiction, and psychiatric issues.

How to Book a Show

Right Turn holds events and performances to raise money to keep our doors open. Most of the performances that we hold happen at our space at 299 Broadway, Arlington Center in Arlington, MA. View Map.

The performance series at Right Turn is called RIGHT TURN LIVE and has been very popular among both the recovery community and the community at large. We provide a safe and sober environment to enjoy performances and meeting other people in the community.

The venue is set-up "in-the-round" with the audience sitting on three sides of the stage. The sound quality is excellent and the performers enjoy a sense of audience intimacy that is lost at larger, louder venues. A small donation of $10 is usually requested, but anyone who is in recovery is welcome to attend.

Larger Right Turn events have been held at the Berklee Performance Center, the Regent Theater and Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant and Music Club.

Booking a Show at Right Turn

If you would like to play at Right Turn LIVE and you feel like you would be a good match for the venue, please come to one of the performances to meet us and learn about performing in a sober environment. Send us an email with links to your music online.

More Information:

Right Turn puts on clean/sober performances in Arlington every Saturday night and we need to get submissions for new acts. We have found that the audience responds best when at least one member of the group is in recovery. The venue is small (cap. 90), the sound is excellent, and audiences are attentive, friendly and very likely to buy your CDs! All performances are video-taped in HD for airing on Arlington's Cable Access Station. Right Turn is in Arlington Center at the intersection of Broadway and Mass Ave and is accessible by many bus routes.

The gigs are unpaid because they are fund raisers to provide treatment to artists and entertainers in recovery from addiction/alcoholism. You keep all proceeds from your merch sales and we will sell for you. We have a coffee bar and home-made snacks during shows.

At this time we can not have performances with drum kits, or loud electric instruments. Percussion instruments are OK and snare drum with brushes is also OK.

Please send us an email (see address above) with a link to your online demo, MySpace page or instructions on how to download your MP3's. We also have a open-mic show the last Saturday of every month, which is where we find most of our talent.
